Commemorative Stone
This stone commemorates the life of Zachariah Hawkins Baptized at Charlestown, Mass Oct. 25, 1639 Died and perhaps buried in this churchyard 1699 He was anong early settlers of Setauket L. l., N. Y. And a prominent citizen. He was an original proprietor of Brookhaven Town. He was among early members of Setauket Presbyterian Church. He was son of Robert and Mary Hawkins who emigrated from England to Charlestown, Mass. in 1635 This stone erected by The Hawkins Assocoation 1967
