Rev. Dr. Johanna McCune Wagner
Pastor & Head of Staff
Reverend Doctor Johanna McCune Wagner serves as Lead Pastor and Head of Staff at Setauket Presbyterian Church. Reverend Wagner has been in ministry for 15 years. Prior to joining SPC she was pastor and head of staff at First Presbyterian Church in Concord, CA. She also served as Head of Staff at Trinity Presbyterian Church, St. Louis, MO. In her earlier ministry, Rev. Wagner was Director of Spiritual Life at Culver Academies in Indiana. Ordained in May of 2007, she attended Bryn Mawr College (BA Latin), Cornell University (MA Medieval Studies), Pittsburgh Theological Seminary (M.Div) and Duke Divinity School (D.Min. Christian Leadership).

In addition to her pastoral work, Rev. Wagner and her husband run a not for profit group founded in 2016, 2MIPeople, Inc., which has produced a number of resources to educate the church about issues facing the mental health community. Their most recent work has focused on empowering church leaders to do a more effective job supporting people who are both unsheltered and experiencing serious mental illness.
Rev. Wagner enjoys trail running, hiking, reading and any TV program set in a Scandinavian country. She also enjoys spending time with her husband and their two dogs.
Noby Ishida
Director of Music, Organist
Noby Ishida has coached and conducted opera in New York City for over two decades. He is the founder and Artistic Director of Satori Opera and worked as Assistant Conductor, Chorus Master, and Vocal Coach for Martina Arroyo’s Prelude to Performance program. Mr. Ishida was formerly the Musical Director of the Remarkable Theatre Brigade, and conductor for the Belleayre Music Festival. An accomplished solo and collaborative pianist, he has performed in distinguished venues around the world, and his clients have included artists from major opera companies including the Metropolitan Opera, New York City Opera, Houston Grand Opera, and San Francisco Opera. A dedicated educator, Mr. Ishida has been on the vocal coaching staffs of Temple University, the University of Miami, Bennington College, The New School University, the International Academy of Rome, and was a Visiting Professor and Vocal Coach at Hunter College where he worked with the Hunter Opera Theater helping to train the next generation of singers and collaborative pianists. He is currently a vocal coach for the opera program at Binghamton University and conducts the Festival Chorus and Orchestra at the “Songe d’été en musique” Festival in Quebec.
